Never any shortage of guys that underestimate just how much it costs to develop, certify, and market a new aircraft.
Take a look at Kopter. $US270Mn invested in 2016. Another SwFr185Mn in 2018.
Leonardo bought the whole program this year for SwFr150Mn.

“The helicopter industry has long awaited an Elon Musk-style disruption that redefines the modern helicopter. The wait is over, Design features include an all-composite, three-blade main rotor, retractable landing gear, and a ducted tail rotor"
Yep that is seriously disrupting.

New Ideas are always welcome if they intends to improve quality and safety.
But have a look at this machine, the Konner K2, a 4, spacious, seaters + baggage compartment at the back with rear door. 4 blades rotor sistem, carbon-fibre structure, full glass cockpit, central cyclic and keep going, diesel/eco diesel gas turbine, 130kn cruise speed and if you think this is not enough, optional is an electric motor directly connected to the main GB, in case of an engine failure the battery supply the electric motor that spin the rotor for two minutes for a safer a power landing.... certificate in South America ( not sure what country). Working in progress for EASA certification, available fully built or in a kit. Price? Just over a million AU
They also have the two seater + baggage compartment, diesel gas turbine.
All built ( I mean everything) by the same company in Amaro UD Italy.
I’m planning to go there for a visit when the borders will be reopened.....

Hey Ala.
Nice post and machine.
I have not looked into the whole concept yet.
I’m glad I found the English button on the website. The only Italian I know are bad words..
hope you get to sit in and have a fly one day!
Perhaps I can do the same before I retire in peace and ability!

Hi GF!
Thanks, I still have relatives there at about 1 hour drive from the factory..
But what I like the best is the “selling customer services”
Here below from the konner website:
TRY K1
If you’re thinking about buying a K1, Konner will be pleased to receive You in Friuli, and more precisely in Carnia, the ideal place to try our helicopter, staying in wonderful farmhouses, eating local culinary specialties and flying above the Carnic Alps.
The program provides:
First day
guided tour in Konner’s facilities
lunch in a characteristic place, where the first taste of our cuisine and wine will leave you speechless
Not sure if I could keep my 73 kg there......

The aircraft in the photo doesn't look like it has 4 main rotor blades.
Just saying.

Do I assume that all the manoeuvres shown in the video are all allowed/recomended by the manufacturer??
The upper shroud in front of the mast doesnt look very aerodynamic??

Looked at the video, 3 minutes and 11 seconds of average flying, time I'll never get back.

Agreed with HIP. Music is too dramatic for what he’s doing. Show some autos or lifting heavy stuff.

It is sexy AF.
Good article. I hope that he succeeds. It would be great to see General aviation step up into the future.

Aimed at people who own supercars, but expects them to be owner/builders??
How many Lamborghini owners built their own? Who would want to fly in something built by, for example, Rowan Atkinson, who crashed his McLaren just after buying it?
Factory built, or forget it.
