Rose Hill/Parramatta Heliport

Postby godfather007 » Thu Oct 24 2019, 09:02

Looks like anther Heliport is going to disappear, thanks to the government.
Railway project...
Reminds me of them taking away the Heliport At Darling Harbour..
Going, going, gone.
There is always an option.

Tell me more, there were 9 years of my life invested in that place. No train lines within a bull's roar, either.

I’m sure MH will be well compensated.......
Nonetheless a major disruption to a business.

Well, the article doesn't mention the heliport, but it would be hard to get the trains to go around it I suppose.

I tried to attach a photo, but the following popped up:
Error
The image must be at least 0 pixels wide, 0 pixels high and at most 800 pixels wide and 0 pixels high. The submitted image is 1196 pixels wide and 795 pixels high.

Not much of a photo if its limit is 0 pixels high.

Hi Eric.

More info below.

https://www.sydneymetro.info/sites/defa ... r_2019.pdf

By the looks of the maps, not only has the Heliport been marked but many surrounding businesses will be bulldozed with it.
The speedway was told years ago they were being relocated to Eastern Creek at some stage.
It was once marked as a POLAIR, Air Ambo and RFS base from what I remember. That got scrapped...
I’m told that since DG sold out, it was on a year by year lease.
NSW GOV hold the strings as it’s their land.
That to me sounds like rock fishing.
Best of luck to SH to hold on or be relocated nearby.
It could be a sad end to a great idea and service for the general aviation sector.
GF.
There is always an option.

Well, there goes the only heliport in the Sydney area, and unlikely ever to be another one.

Will they move to Bankstown? Rosehill had the advantage of being easier to access by road than BK, it was outside any CTA, direct access to the harbour lanes and the lightie lane north, no landing fees (for their own birds) and no noise complaints.
