MEH/SEH Flight Reviews

Postby HELO1 » Tue Jan 30 2024, 01:37

Hey all,

Figured someone in amongst our knowledgeable bunch would be able to help out with this one.

Does a MEH flight review cover the SEH class as well? If yes, could you point me to the right section of legislation. I’ve gone down the rabbit hole trying to find it but have been unable to. Found some stuff about planky’s being exempt but so far haven’t found rotary stuff however I have been told previously MEH covered SEH. Worst comes to worst I’ll give CASA a call and see if someone can help.

Thanks all, and keep her upright!

Not under this exemption.

https://www.casa.gov.au/licences-and-ce ... nappliesto

If you scroll down there it says:

When you complete an assessment that is equivalent to a flight review in a model of helicopter in the class-like system you meet the flight review requirements for:

any other multi-engine helicopter type rating
single-engine helicopter type ratings
single-engine helicopter class rating.

If you read the actual instrument, it's a bit more challenging to interpret the written mumbo jumbo, but there you have it...

Thanks tinman, I did see that but wasn’t sure if it was directly referring to each one individually or if it was collective. Cheers for the help, since they’ve gone to MEH class now not individual type ratings as such I just wanted to confirm it was all the same same.
