Intan and long lining in Indonesia

Postby redline » Thu Mar 17 2011, 21:06

Morning all.
Just looking for any info that anyone knows of on Intan Angkasa in Indonesia. I'm told they run H500's, Longboxes and Lama's and its all long line work for mining support around indo. I know guys that have just been put on and was wondering if they were still hiring...and if so what are the min's and pay/tours like?
I'm told the guys do some big long line hrs(800-1000), it sounds like a great gig to get in on!

I've sent an e-mail to the head office but was just wondering if anyone had any info from the horses mouth??

Cheers: Red

I know them thru the work circle..not personally. I'm currently trying to find contact details for them(I don't even know if they are in the country)....so was in the meantime trying other info sources.

It seems that lately there are frequent occasions when someone gets on here asking for help in relation to a company or a particular type of work and are slagged off or told to go and do a google search. This is the meeting place of the oz heli community, so people are generally seeking some inside info on a company or job type from guys/girls that have been there and done that. Some people seem to get annoyed by these questions and instead of posting a constructive reply, waste their own and everyone else's time posting rubbish. If these questions bother you so much or you have no constructive info to offer, here's an idea, DONT ANSWER.

Just a thought.

Fair call, although people can tire of people putting up questions seemingly without thought or effort. I am not saying this is the case in this instance, but it is important to see both sides. Occasionally there are some pretty lazy threads that insinuate that one could not be bothered to put any effort in and they would like everyone else to do the work for them.

Fair call as well. As our mums used to say, if you have nothing nice to say, then don't say anything. If you can help, then please do so. If not, maybe think about just leaving it and moving along. Save everyone (including yourself) the hassle.

One day we will all play nicely in the playground, share our toys and ice creams and share the cricket bat when it's out turn to field!

Hi Red,
The link that masteroff put up is indeed the correct guys.
Call Tom direct, for work opportunities, he is very approachable and they are all very easy going guys.
Should you be lucky enough to score a gig there, you social skills will be utilised nearly as much as your flying skills :)

Cheers Pumpkin, ill give him a call ( to back up my e-mail ) and see how things are over there.

The reason i posted on here was to see if anyone that reads this site has actually flown for them. I wanted info from a pilots point of view,, not the companies.

Anyhow, Cheers.

Redline - Have a couple of good friends flying up there, Piers Harvey included. They seem to really enjoy and I have spoken to the owner Carl on the phone a few times, seems like a decent guy.

They have just taken delivery of a new Eagle Single to add to the 500s and Lamas etc so they seem to be growing as well.

Hi red and others. i see your looking for info on intan angkasa??

I used to work for them a few years back, great mob and always entertaining! We used to do 8 weeks on and 4 off and a day rate on US$$$

Average around 100hrs a month of long line (mostly 200ft) with 95% of our work moving drills and drill support. I see they have expanded with the eagle single and more lamas....no wonder with a gold boom on at the moment

I left due to family pressures (tours were a bit long for the missus) but if your young and single its a great place to work....not to mention some of the best long line work anywhere in the world.

Just a word of warning tho....its not somewhere to start/learn long line. Verry difficult jobs and the guys in the office in jakarta don't really understand it...they just send you where ever and in what ever...the rest (ie staying alive) is up to you and your engineer.

Hope this helps...any more info just pm me

Cheers longline, thats the stuff i was looking for. Have been in touch with tom and have passed on my details. Everyone seems to go to PNG for sling and very little is heard about asian operations, but if it's as good (and as fun) as you say it is then im getting out my geography book!

Cheers, Red

Does anyone have any more recent info on these guys?

Minimums?
Experience required?
Tour rosters?
Who best to get in contact with?

Thanks

Ensure that you conduct thorough research on the events that transpired there last year. Not a good outcome
