JMC has a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced turbine helicopter pilot to work in the tourism and charter flight sector within beautiful Northern Tasmania.
This is a permanent full-time salaried role based in Launceston with at least 6 to 10 hours of flight time per week, roster to be negotiated. We are offering an $80k package and are willing to consider the inclusion of accommodation, a vehicle and relocation costs for the right applicant.
The successful candidate will be a well-presented, engaging person with a passion for flying, customer service and showing off the beauty of our island state.
Duties & responsibilities:
- Piloting charter flights for high-profile guests
- Ensuring that all flight and task documentation is accurately completed
- Providing exceptional customer service
- Selling tours and leading expeditions
- Assisting with the daily maintenance of the aircraft, as well as cleaning and servicing as required.
Requirements:
- 200 to 300 hours of turbine experience
- 1000+ hours of flight time
- EC 130 accreditation – essential
- A passion for safety
- Ability to operate in a dynamic and changing environment
- Ability to work in a team environment and embrace the company’s strong culture
- Mechanical aptitude
- A proactive nature.

Would be a sweet gig I reckon. Lonny’s my home town and is a great spot. Plenty of good food and bars. Endless things to do if you love the outdoors.
Errol’s tipped a lot of money into developing the city over the years and he’s no mug. I very much doubt he would have pulled the trigger on this unless he knew it has a solid chance of working. If I didn’t like my current job so much, I’d probably throw my hat in.
