This is the very reason we want you to vote NO! so the streams are split and you can cower down in your EMS base scared of the bogey man while we in the offshore world fight for a slice of the commodities pie. Oc:=

If the streams are split, it just makes it that much easier for First Reserve to sell off the onshore component as a separate entity. From a company perpective, First Reserve have no historical interest in SAR & EMS.

If this happens then Offshore will not have the opportunity to move into EMS or SAR if their home situation changes. I saw that as the down side of Bristow, is it's Offshore or nothing.

The fact the company refuses to back pay to 01 May any Casual days at the new rate is a great indication of the comtempt they hold for their employees.

Work carried out in good faith is taken for granted and just one of the many signs that the company has anything but our best interests in mind with the curent proposal.

I will be voting NO!

Yes you are right. The company is penny pinching by not back paying casual days. Bear in mind though, if this falls over they might not even back pay the basic rate to May 08 - there is no requirement. They nearly did that last time.

Don't know why I pay my union fees. Don't get the tough unionistic representation I am after and don't get told what happens! Anyone know of another good Loss of Licence cover?

As much as it's not exactly what we wanted, it's probably a good thing this went through given the global financial markets at present.
Lotsa luck crewies!

Six months break then back into the new EBA. Casual rates high on the agenda.

To all CHC pilots who have posted on this thread.

I stopped reading this thread months ago as it frankly made me sick with some of the pathetic spineless comments that were posted. There were, spread thinly throughout, some constructive comments and I thank those people for their efforts in bringing some objectivity and maturity to the garbage that I had to wade through.

As a Pilot Representative I attempted to act in the best interests of ALL pilots and knew that I could not please all the people all of the time. In the end, you, the pilots voted this EBA up with a significant majority.

The reason for my thread is to defend the uninformed and pathetic accusations toward the AFAP. (Below).

Don't know why I pay my union fees. Don't get the tough unionistic representation I am after and don't get told what happens! Anyone know of another good Loss of Licence cover?

I worked very closely with the AFAP throughout this process and believe that the reason you have the pay rise you have is due to the tireless efforts and committment of the AFAP and its representatives.

I have appreciated all the positive feedback and constructive comments but frankly have been disguisted by the rantings of some of my colleagues who have posted on this site. I have been embarrased by some of what has been posted here over the last few months. Conversely I am extremely proud to be working with the vast majority of CHC pilots.

Regards,

Mark Gaudin.

Just remember Mark, this site has alowed pilots who you work with speak what they really think.

It should be a lesson in life that humans will say one thing to your face and another behind your back. One thing you and AFAP didnt do was keep us informed along the way, that led to mistrust of what you were all upto.

It should not have been a surprise to us when the EBA was released, it should not have been a surprise to see so many changes that we hadnt even discussed as being negotiable.

It was a voluntary role you chose, if you feel like crap now its because you fought a battle that wasnt of the collective opinion and you didnt represent the view of the collective group. If you went in there as a reepresentative then you should have no ill feelings other than those to the negotiators on the companies side who couldnt see reason in the demands put forward.

Time will tell when people have to work under the new EBA, if you have to work extra shifts in the future due to a lack of staff then you know it was a failure. If your life is organised, your happy with your roster and you can pay the rent, then you did a good job.

Mark,

Regardless of the future outcome, particularly given the company's arrogance, you did do a good job, you did represent a collective group, evident by virtue of the fact that you are not in the highest salary group of pilots. Thanks for your continued effort and passion throughout this protracted saga.
Ps; didn't you have to move house, states, start a new role, new endorsements and travel overseas twice for work during this negoitation? hmmm surely you had time to keep everyone informed, answer every individual querry and complaint.

Yes Well done to Mark, Stef and Coota.

I look at it like this! when you elect a government into power they don't report back to you on everything that is going on, and your not always happy with what they do, but you are stuck with their decisions.

These guy's were voted in by us, to represent us. It was up to them to make the best of the situation.

If you were unhappy with what they did, then stand up to the plate and become a rep, and you will realise it aint that easy

Actually why am I even still reading this thread? the vote is over lets move on guy's, maybe the moderator should close this one down!!!!!!!!!!!!

From Phugoyd (The Moderator)

I do agree its time to end this thread. I also believe that it was this site that got the EBA past the first Draft by creating a meeting place for the pilots spread far and wide. It may not have been pleasant at times but neither is a political fight for government. You may elect your local member but you won’t agree with all he lobby’s for. I’m sure we will meet again for the next EBA and thanks to those that put themselves forward and represented us during the negotiation.
