Seems you can't get your mates to share costs anymore:

You generally don’t need an AOC if the flight is purely recreational and you don’t receive a reward. Examples include:

flying family or friends for enjoyment, without receiving any payment or benefit
club or private flights where participants do not exchange money or goods
flights conducted as a hobby with no commercial intent.

My thoughts? I read and interpret the CARS instead of CASA newsletters/Advisory Circulars, and nothing has changed recently regarding cost sharing.

What a waste of time having someone put out that press release, anyone who's looking at buying that AOC knows that you must buy the company it's attached to.

Yesterday's CASA press release also stated that all AOC holders (who haven't transitioned) will be required to have their SMS approved and up and running by December. I assume the industry exemption is about to be updated with submission and implementation deadlines.
