I am a UK citizen with and Australian CPL(h). I have just moved to New Zealand (on a visitor visa). I am looking at converting to a NZ CPL, i understand that i need life insurance to do this. Can anyone recommend a company that is able to offer this?
thanks

Life insurance ?. I didn't think helicopters in NZ were more dangerous than Australian Helicopters. I will bare that in mind.
On a serious note, look at the TTMRA between AUS and NZ. Simple and easy paperwork process , with no flying if you have the minimums.

Life insurance ?
Indeed, first time I've ever heard this too. I converted the other way but know plenty that have gone back to NZ too. I'd not go back there with that toothy WEF mental case in running the country.

I converted mine before Covid, no life insurance needed then. From a oz cpl you will need 10 hours mountain training and the rest is paperwork. Medical and a BFR will be required before your first job, hopefully employer can do the BFR for you.

Thanks for the feedback. Its all new to me, so hopefully no insurance needed.
Yes, will be doing 10 hours mountain training, also i have no sling time so i will need to do that too, then just some paperwork and hopefully land a job somewhere?

Yes, currently on a visitor visa whilst my residency is being processed, should only take a couple of months for pr to come through. My visitor visa includes the right to work

Hello BS community
I have been looking into this Trans Tasman Aus CPL to NZ CPL recently and I am wondering if anyone has done it over the last 12-18 months and can share there experience, thoughts, process and advice?
Specifically of interest are things as below:
• What flight training required (Sling / mountain time etc)?
• Theory exams required to sit?
• Flight Test with a flight examiner?
• Costs / licence and ratings transferred?
• Time frame to complete?
• If a school was used, who and thoughts on that school / instructor?
• Any other useful / helpful information you picked up?
Would be good to get some recent first-hand information from anyone that has done this successfully and recently.
Cheers all

Re: Aus to NZ conversion and life insurance
I recently converted my Aussie CPLH to a NZ CAA licence. The process was fairly straight forward, I just needed to complete the mountain training element of NZ's syllabus. I have written a blog post detailing the requirements and process for converting either way http://www.helihustle.com/blog/ttmra
