Low Level Adventure Flights
Anyone with experience in these matters, what’s your take on the feasibility of getting an exemption from CAR 157 for low level passenger-carrying adventure flights along surveyed routes from Point A to A?

Re: Low Level Adventure Flights
Hi,
I've had a low-level endorsement on my license / AOC for quite some.
Three things:
1. 500ft is pretty low, enough for pax to have a great time without being dangerous in clear and open areas. Of course, this only applies in unpopulated areas.
2. Drones can operate legally to 393ft, I've personally seen them at 1000ft, why risk it?
3. My endorsements have always been written with "only required pax on low-level airwork ops"
Hope this helps.

Re: Low Level Adventure Flights
Doing a low level adventure flight in a gorge was what hooked me onto helicopters. That was years ago in central Africa with no rules. Tons of fun. Never heard of accidents from that operator. Good luck getting that exemption in Australia.
