Another Canada Post

Postby jas78 » Wed Jan 22 2020, 02:33

Same old story, read lots of other Canada posts. Wondering what the 2020 season is looking like over there?

Currently in the process of sorting out a WHV and about to start sending resumes out. 2500+ hrs total time mostly mustering but no turbine rating. Am I likely to get a look in or a start in a turbine machine over there? Is there any Aussies on here that are over there at the moment or heading back for the season? Also any company names that have previously employed us Aussie folk would be a great help!

I went over about 7 years ago with all mustering piston ours and got a start. The big thing is the oil and gas contracts are now pretty strict! I think they want min 2000 hours pic with 250 turbine (might have changed again). One company “Qwest” will take aussies, usually a raw deal but also gets you a start over there. Do one season for them and move on. Don’t expect much time off - the season really only goes for 4 months, so hook in and get what you can with the 2 year visa!
