Wanted: Non-flying R22 or similar

Postby rrdesign » Fri Oct 23 2009, 07:19

I am looking for a helicopter to buy to use in a static display.

A two seater something the size of a Robinson R22 would be ideal. It needs to be in good visual condition, but not airworthy.

Please email me at rrdesign@ozemail.com.au if you have something, or know of someone who might be able to help me.

I know where you can find a few crashed 22s. Probably not in good visual condition.
I'm a pessimist, that way I'm either always being proven right, or pleasantly surprised.

Hi Guys

I am still after a non airworthy helicopter. I am interested in an R22, Kawasaki KH4, Bell 47, Hiller 360, etc. Any type that would have been used for mustering.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Any R22 would work for you if you're after a non-airworthy machine, however the "good visual condition" requirement will disqualify it outright.  :D.
Just my opinion of course, Go the KH-4!

Look at the R22 on this web page main page... it is now out of time as you see it... nice example.

Use the contact menu and ask for details... very nice machine.

When I opened the link for South Coast Helicopters the R22 registration is VH-HYA, then in most of their photo galleries that registration (VH-HYA) is on an R44, the civila A/C register has it as an R22??????

Yea i see the shot with the HYA on the R44 .... the story there was....... the machine was delivered and had went unnoticed that the wrong rego had been applied.
The owner filed the wrong details on the paper work for the detailers, having been used to writing HYA on just about every thing prior.
Calling inbound to Adelaide one day and using the HAI rego... the Twr quickly picked up the error once sighting the AC.. so the error was quickly rectified.
The photo then being of the R44's first flight or 2 with a happy owner not yet aware of the error.

I know of a few machines around the top end that aren't all that airworthy, but think they might still be in use.....

A good idea needs landing gear as well as wings to get off the ground.
