Alpha replacement Parts

Postby Icefather » Thu May 21 2020, 21:44

All,

This may sound like a stupid question, but everywhere I look for I can’t seem to find any replacement parts for Alpha Helmets, Apart from the odd bits from America,

In particular I’m looking for a new front liner and top cushion, or even material they use to pack the helmet as it’s a little bit big for me...

And a inner lense yellow and outer lense dark.

I believe it’s an Alpha 800 X-L

Interested to see how everyone else has solved this issue. I really don’t want to send my helmet away just to get basic useable items done?

Any leads appreciated.

Red Baron ALSE also do Alpha Helmets, spares, service, refurbishment etc. Have used this business on two occasions and been very happy with their service.

If you’re going to buy a replacement liner for the alpha you’d be crazy not to upgrade to the oregon aero “Zeta” liner. Completely changed my alpha for the better!

robaussie99,

How did you get on with the sizing ? What would you recommend?

I think I’ve seen some advertised but I was unsure which size to get.

Have you tried McDermott's?
They've been great over many years for replacing parts/pads for my Alpha.
Quick, accurate and reasonable prices.
I believe they still deal with the brand.

It's been ages since I bought it (still going strong) but from memory I went with the standard 3/8" thickness liner and used the size chart;
https://www.oregonaero.com/helmet-upgra ... lmet-liner
to determine which size I needed to start with, I wear a medium-long alpha and I found that the liner I got made the helmet very slightly tighter than the stock liner, but WAY more even pressure distribution, comfort and overall fit way better.

It's a bit of a gamble for sure, if in doubt, maybe a call to the mfg would help?

Worth the effort though, for sure! (get a hush kit if you dont have one already while you're at it)

Enjoy.

its a bit hard to see without looking inside but I think it looks like the 400type series which I believe you cannot buy parts for anymore. Some 900 parts fit but the impact liner and the front brow piece are not the same and not able to be purchased anymore (or so is my understanding)
