Regulatory madness

Postby Heliduck » Sat Apr 29 2017, 02:43

Catching up on some gossip from the "Vertical mag" site & found the article below about EASA regulations interesting, & frighteningly familiar. I think someone in CASA has too many Facebook friends in EASA & they're in a regulations amendment competition.
The "no single engine for pax charter ops" is a bit scary, given that 2 major mechanical failure accidents in recent years involved twin engine aircraft which suffered a transmission fault (225 rotor separation & s92 trans ran dry).
This argument has been done to death over the years, but I do wonder how long it will be until CASA catch up with their Facebook friends & introduce the same regs "to be compliant with ICAO".
