Down turn in the offshore

Postby black duck » Sat Aug 22 2015, 06:57

Halloooo slappers :D , been a while. With the down turn in the offshore I was a wondering how it has affected the helicopter side of things. The marine end of it is r/s, heap of vessels have left the coast vessels being sold redundancies, 18 Engineers alone in our mob, lots of blokes on the beach. I'm still in by my fingernails, but for how long I don't know. The prediction is that it will get worse in 2016 and improve 2017  yeah.

I'm based in Thailand, 90% of the offshore here is natural gas. 10+ flights a day.

Never heard of Offshore wind energy?? Is that the wind turbines out at sea??

The oil gas sector really slowing down. Northwest WA isn't doing too great at moment. Pilots are doing maybe 1 or 2 flights a day, if that, and engineers are really catching up on little jobs, if not cleaning shelves and stores out.

Read on PeePoo that a few guys from Bond were made redundant? Best of luck finding new gigs if it is true.
