ATPL flight planning

Postby Parrot » Thu May 28 2015, 20:53

G'day,

I've just started studying flight planning and noted that the CASA guide to candidate book tells you to use the wind 2/3 up for a climb. The AFT notes I have (which are quite old) talk about using two minutes per 1000' and none of the FP practice questions I have use plan a min segment.

Can anyone that hs done the exam recently confirm that using your cruise GD with a 2 min per 1000 works on the current exam?

Also do I need the ERC charts? I've just done the ATPL(A) and the RW FP seems to be a less brutal!!
