what IREX study material?

hi all,
Just wondering what study material to use for IREX?
Appart from my CPL theory books, would it be a good idea to use some ATPL matirial?
Are there specific IREX books apart from Bob Tait, Aviation theory center that really Help?

I just used bob taits along with the air law books... That got me over the line.

Bob Tait and as many practise exams as you can get your hands on. It'll give you an idea on how the questions are worded (and the wording of the questions is a killer).

I found the Bob Tait book lacked the required in depth information in some areas so used the Aviation Theory Centre book as well.

I used bob tait back in 08, also had tuition from a mate in the airlines at the time and got through ok. Lots o practice. It will make more sense when you start flying, good luck

Bob tait book and 2 weeks study. There are no surprises in the exam if you know the book.
I had out of date maps and DAPs I counted on CASA not updating there exams which worked.

Can anyone give any advise on study materials for NZ Instrument exams?

I am looking at doing a bit of self study this winter.

For NZ the Waypoint books will get you through the exams, Vol 9 & 10. Also a copy of AIP Vol 1 for the Air Law exam for study (not allowed in the exam).

Wording's a pain, indeed.

I looked at both books, BT and AFT and the guy at the shop didn't seem to favour/recommend any specifically. I found AFT text more in-depth glancing over. AFT use BT's air law as one of their notes/textbooks - may be easier to digest the regs side of IREX off BT's. Do have a look at both before buying/ordering one as it's probably overkill getting both unless loaned.

CASA could take EASA take on IREX - shorter questions, if they are to 'copy over' anything. Maybe not the tons of areas on syllabus, ehrm. Very unpalatable questions, hence you see why all posters mention LOTS of practice questions/papers to get used to it. Aviation legalese, air law regs.
