Instructor rating

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone knows if you can claim back tax relief on money spent on an instructor rating. This is of course if you are already employed as a pilot.

You could have the institution invoice you in two chunks. One this financial year and one next.

Whereas hardward (helmets etc) can be depreciated over a period of years, training is taken in one chunk and that's that.

Depending on your circumstances i.e if it will take you over your max benefit, you may be better off spreading the expense over two tax years....

This does not consitute advice and I welcome correction from experts, officals, ASIC, Rudd's Mum, whoever. Just a thought, that's all.
