I’m glad you stick around and I enjoy most of your articles Gonsky but I’m not sure what I watched then, I kept waiting for the beat to drop... :)
I’ve been following the Schiebel for years as Reigl used them early on with their lidars and they are an impressive piece of kit but man they cost!

Isn't Droneslapper the appropriate forum for this one?

Yet the Camcopter is an impressive piece of kit, pricepoint for a system is still way outside the market and so mainly targeting the military marrket. 2 mil for a system is way up there the Aus navy was looking at them at one stage.

The factory in austria looks like it was designed by armani and it is bascially a semicoundutor clean room.

The Navy had one on static display at Avalon last year.

It is an impressive airframe yet it is also quite a few years old, 50kg payload and a 6+ hour flight time, yet the price point is a shocker.

For instance similar specs;

https://www.aeroscout.ch/index.php/scou ... icopters-2

Schiebel has not moved with the times and has just kept the same platform for way to long with zero upgrades.

We sold production prototypes with full CAD/design just last year, 50kg and 6 hours. Price point of 165k USD with full IP Mesh CACS and it is only going lower in that segment.

Intersting. Looks like something from the 1950s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSzNjlX2xhU
