Online EFB Course

Postby Airspace » Mon May 18 2020, 11:23

Hi all,

I've created an online Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) Training Course. It's a 6-Part series filmed over 3.5 hours and satisfies the requirements of CASA CAO 82.0 Appendix 9 Para 5&6, and the New Zealand requirements of CAA AC91-20, but includes key information for non-commercial pilots. The content is also a safety mitigator for flight schools and their students because flight training Manuals of Standards in Australian and New Zealand do not include competencies for the use of EFB at this time, and new pilots are often using EFB in flight for the first time on their own without any guidance. I have created the course to improve knowledge & safety in this area, and being online it suits the current state of play. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion which can be used for currency/compliance.

A large amount of content applies to all App users (OzRunways, AvPlan, Jeppesen FD, Garmin Pilot), including relevant Air-Law, Hardware, Software, Human Factors, and Threat & Error Management material including case-studies. OzRunways is specifically looked at in depth, including pre-flight, briefing, planning, and in-flight factors. The training includes Advanced Functionality and Tips for Success. Apple users will gain the most benefit, but the majority of points covered can be applied to Android Platforms as well. An EFB Administrator module is included for those wishing to learn the key elements of the role.

The first ten slappers to purchase with code EFBSLAPPER will receive 30% off, or PM to ask any questions.

The mods have approved this post as the course promotes flight safety at the ground level

Hi Slappers,

Thank you to those who have ordered the online EFB Course, I'll be posting some testimonials on the website this week.
Due to the current climate and to help spread the word, a 20% discount will apply until the end of June with discount code EFBSLAPPER.
For commercial organisations looking at using this course for aircrew currency, please get in touch to discuss.

Cheers,

Sounds awesome.. I'm literally just doing theory at the moment for cplh I completed my 4th exam today. I'm guessing at least about 8-9 months until I've completed all 3 then estimating a year to do flight training if all goes well. Would this be worth doing now, or better off and more appropriate once I commence flying?

Hi Gasket, congrats on the 4th exam pass mate. Keep plugging away, this course will be better for you towards the end of your flying training.
If the Part 61 MOS is amended to include EFB units/elements of competency, then perhaps a little earlier during your flight training.
EFB apps can be helpful for quick access to Air-Law and Met material but paper in exam (for now anyway) = study with paper.
Let me know if you need a hand, contact details on website.
