We operate from locations in NSW, northern WA and the Top End of the NT. Our specially trained doctors, nurses and paramedics use helicopters, aeroplanes, medi-jets and road ambulances to bring a hospital level of care to over 5,000 patients each year. We also deploy medical professionals to remote oil, gas & mining sites, both onshore and offshore.

The role

We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Training & Checking Aircrew Officer to join our team. Reporting to the Chief Aircrew Officer, key responsibilities include:

assisting the Chief Aircrew Officer with the management and conduct of company Training and Checking for all Aircrew Officers and rear seat medical crew (including DTW) to ensure company and contractual currency and recency is maintained;
ensure that all matter pertaining to aircrew duties are undertaken according to company and contract policy and procedures;
ensure shifts are conducted in accordance with FRMS as required by the roster;
undertake shifts at various locations as required by the roster;
manage and ensure secondary non-flying duties are undertaken as allocated;
undergo Aircrew Officer training, according to company and contract policy and procedures;
Maintain aviation operational proficiency and fitness as stipulated by contract.
About you

To be successful in this role you will possess the following:

Minimum 1000 hours as a helicopter Aircrew Officer/Winch Operator.
Previous SAR/EMS experience with a minimum of three (3) years fulltime civil experience including front seat experience.
Previous civil Training and Checking experience. Minimum 100 hours.
NVG competency in accordance with CAO 82.6. Minimum 100 hours.
Certificate IV in Aviation (Aircrewman).
Winch/Rappel competency in accordance with CAO 29.11.
Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET).
CASA Class 2 Medical.
Sound understanding of CAO’s, rules and regulations pertaining to ACO role within a rotary wing operation.
Demonstrated understanding of CRM/Human Factors, Risk Management and Safety Management Systems.
Demonstrated leadership and management ability.
The following will be highly regarded:

BK-117 & AW139 experience.
First Aid / Resuscitation Certificate from a recognised authority.
