Delay in posting for new usernames on the Bladeslapper site

Postby FerrariFlyer » Wed Feb 19 2014, 11:20

Given the increasing amount of time and effort taken to remove garbage posts placed by spammers, a new time delay measure is now in place for all new usernames who sign up to the site.

What this means is that all new users who wish to make a post can still do so however it is placed in a moderation queue to be approved or disapproved according to content.

Existing usernames have no such restriction and can continue to post as they have done so in the past.

Ultimately, this new measure should largely eliminate spam posts actually making it to public view. Unfortunately an unintended consequence is that new users will likely experience a slight delay in their post appearing for public view. It should, however, prove to be a small inconvenience when compared to the constant bombardment by spammers. After all, which helicopter pilot wants to buy a farking kitten from the UK anyway!!!

Happy (and now hopefully) spam-free slapping 8)

When signing up, the system asked me "the" question,
I thought the obvious answer was too simple, so I typed
"Samyoeds In a Squirrel", but it got the big no.
And no I don't need a new kitten.

And here I was thinking the site must be getting a commission from all the kitten sales to keep itself running :shock: pop;

The site administrator may be best placed to respond to your query. I'll send your question off.
