Afternoon.
Could anybody tell me the pass rates for a class 1 medical for bp and cholesterol levels.
If bp medications can be taken etc.
Sorry if already on forum but nothing came up.
Reception at the dame couldn't answer the questions off hand.
Regards

Re: bp and cholesterol limits
It's not a pass/fail thing but points are allocated depending on the level of each and a couple of other things.

I know this is off toppic, but im curious. Currently getting 2 personal training sessions a week and gyming the other 3 sessions. Is this claimable from a tax perspective. I view it as a requirement to "maintain" my class 1 medical. Can I claim gym fee's also?

Maybe but unlikely. Deductions have been allowed in the past if your job requires you to maintain a "very high level of fitness". No disrespect to your profession but you don't need to be super fit to maintain your licence (go easy on me here fellas). If you were to lose your licence due to a health issue and your doctor advised you to undergo personal training or a strict fitness regime then you may have a slither of hope.
When the ATO allow these types of deductions I think they are looking at highly specialised occupations (I think trapeze artists are mentioned). If you think you might have a chance you can always get a personal tax ruling.
