Toll Helicopters (see http://www.tollgroup.com/tollhelicopters and http://www.tollgroup.com/acetrainingcentre), part of the Toll Group, operates on a global scale and are currently looking for a suitably qualified full time Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) fitter to support our NSW and ACT HEMS operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to play an integral role in our specialist helicopter business providing safe, reliable, mission-critical aeromedical services to NSW and ACT Health.

The position requires the qualified ALSE Fitter to manage, inspect, repair and maintain serviceability of all role equipment and flight safety equipment for Toll helicopters. The role will be based at the main HEMS base at Bankstown, however there will also be the requirement to travel to the other HEMS bases in Wollongong, Canberra and Orange from time to time to support the other bases. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated person who enjoys working in a high-tempo team conducting over 3000 rescue and medical missions per year.

AVIATION LIFE SUPPORT EQUIPMENT (ALSE) FITTER

Requirements

Excellent skills in scheduling and management of assets including use of tracking software systems
Be able to work in a high tempo critical care emergency service facility including working without supervision and ensuring service delivery and mission readiness through consistent availability of equipment to operations
Minimum 5 years experience as a ALSE
Excellent work ethic, professional pride in work and attention to detail
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience in inspection, servicing and repair of modern aviation flight helmets
Experience in inspection, servicing and repair of:
aircraft fitted restraint harness, safety lines and safety devices
SAR winching equipment including stretchers, rescue strops, rescue harnesses, ropes, packs, and other ancillary equipment
aircrew lifejackets and survival equipment including pyrotechnics, EPIRB's and signalling devices
life rafts, lifejackets and sea survival and rescue equipment
Highly desirable:

Military experience as an ALSE Fitter
Experience with Emergency Breathing Systems (aqualung LV2 preferable)
Experience supporting training equipment and facilities for Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET)
Experience in servicing and inspection of Night Vision Devices
Experience in inspection, service and repair of Ops-Core helmet systems
Previous experience with design and building of specialist bags, packs and equipment
