Work Visas

Postby pilot » Tue Feb 21 2006, 04:17

How difficult is it for non-Aussies with the hours required for most of these jobs (2000+ turbine, instrument, etc.) to get work visas? From what I understand, the employer has to do all of the work to get the pilot into the country, so foreigners have a harder time of it. I understand and agree with the philosophy completely - take care of your own first - I'm just curious how difficult the process is and what one's chances might be to get a work visa? How long does the process take?
