IREX HELP.

Postby dragonfly » Sun Jun 11 2006, 03:12

Can anyone please tell me if they are aware of anyone that might do private tutoring for IREX in the Sydney/Newcastle area.

Courses don't seem to run consistently.

Doing self study, but wouldn't mind some help with a few things.

CHEERS.

Why not ask any questions on here, I'm sure any of the IFR drivers would be more than willing to help

Get all of the old flight safety magazines and go throught the IREX questions in the back, these are a good source of Q and A's for you. I would recommend studying all you can in the books and then coming to Moorrabin for 5 days course with L. Taylor. He will teach you what the exam want's.

Other than that dont know anyone in Sydney. :?

Unfortunately, like the other CA$A exams IREX is more about tricks, speed, vagaries and misdirection than knowledge. The fact is that an experienced and current IFR driver would struggle to pass this exam. (I’m one, I’d be scared). Similarly even a current instructor would be unlikely to pass the CPL theory.
So if possible you must use a professional THEORY instructor in preparation for theory exams. The good ones teach you what you need to know. and what you need to know to pass the test.

(note to Bladeslapper sensei – we need some more negative/angry/descriptive, emotions, for posts about CA$A esp their $hitfull, disgraceful exams)
