Software/Online Tool for mapping flight paths

Postby Will_Miller » Wed Jun 7 2017, 02:20

Was hoping a fellow member could help me find a suitable software or online tool to map out helicopter flight paths. Of course we can do manually but would be great if we had something that could help speed the process up for our pilots.

Thanks! :D

A lot of companies are coming out with Augmented Reality Systems (ARS) for map overlays, like a VR system overlaid over google maps.

Quick google search will bring responses which will be dependent on your area.

https://www.kongsberggeospatial.com/ has some pretty impressive capabilities.

Google Earth will do it.

Make a "path" select the height for your eye - or altitude.

Save to "Places - My Places"

Select the path in "My Places" - right click - add Tour.

Select again in "My Places" Tour controller comes up at the bottom of the box - click -tour starts and a controller appears in the view window.

Pretty easy or if all else fails read the Google Earth manual.

Save - to .kmz or email as required. pop;

I assume that is what you are looking for? Question is a little vague within the realm of possibility.

MotionX-GPS app for iPhones or the Ozrunways app.

More expensive, set up each aircraft with Spidertracks or TracPlus
