Hi bladeslappers,
I have only just joined this site but have watched for a long time. I have a question for the 'experienced pilots' out there.
Just wondering what should the ball park pay be for a pilot with 4000hrs TT, 1300hrs ag, 600hrs sling, rated in r22,r44, b206, as350, hu369, hu269. Who can weld, fix cars/trucks, general hand. Who also has ppl(A)
Don't want to undersell them self, but do want to get a job in the industry.
Any feed back would be great.

How long is a piece of string. It all depends on what type of work/aircraft you fly as to how much you will get paid.

A pilot with 4000 Hrs shouldn't have to ask such a question.

Or weld or fix cars, as part of their employment conditions.

In fairness, I too have absolutely no idea of the going rate for a 4000TT Utility B206/AS350 pilot. However, I guess between 80-120K depending on what the work is.

My thoughts exactly Skypig.

What you are worth and what you will get paid are two entirely different things.
These days it will more often than not be what your employer can pay you. Too many helicopters and not enough work will always be the deciding point.

Hand in Pants, I'm thinking, my god, that IS huge!!!!!!!!

The SE guys that I work with flying B206/AS350 get $450/day for day VFR, general charter, powerlines, etc.

Ok; so no mincing words;
Only the 206/350/369 hours count (unless you want to fly Piston's).
If you have 500+ turbine time, plus 100hrs on type then you're worth $80k plus.
That welding, mechanic's, general hand s#!t gets you through the door as a low hour pilot. At 4000hrs you're now a professional (congratulations). You're hired as a professional pilot with the expectation that you're good at what you do. All that other stuff is a bonus, but won't get you a job.
I wish I had a catchy saying like everyone else...

Agree with Hand in Pants and all due respect to Pat's buddy, I was earning that contracting if not a tad more back in 2001-6 for the same type of work.
It is rather sad that 13 years later the rates haven't changed, blame that on competition, lack of work and oversupply of GA helicopter companies and pilots. Having said that for specialised work contracting rates are generally negotiated and commensurate with experience.
