Are these tanks tested and certified (Avgas)? Or can they be?

Nice set up for remote ops and a decent Ute.

1 sold. Cheap approved transport of fuel
Test and approval in photo. Avgas ok. Drivers need a Dangerous Goods licence but vehicle does not as long as you comply with the numbers of IBCs on vehicle and quantities up to 3000 litres if vehicle is not DG there are conditions as per the DG Code 7.5 which is a national code . Some states have exemptions that fall outside the code. In WA no limit on a vehicle without DG Licence up to 10000 litres if on a truck with a tray.
If Vehicle has a DG Licence only limits is what is on your DG Licence and that can vary in each state

For more info best to gooogle DG code 7.5 edition.

How much?
Judge your success by what you have had to give up to get it.

In the three states I have dealt with (SA, VIC, TAS), you neither require a DG vehicle or driver licence to carry up to 3000L in IBCs provided they are not loaded or unloaded on the vehicle (i.e. hooked up to a pump and reel assembly)

Licencing is dealt with at the state level, usually by the worksafe authority, the only other difference in the states legislation is the $$ amount attached to the fines for non-compliance with the ADGC.

Despite not requiring a licence, you do however have to comply with all of the requirements of the ADGC regarding documentation, safety equipment, placarding, EIPs, etc.

To truly understand the implications it’s best you consult someone with a DG licence with a good understanding of the ADGC, it’s not something you can read and understand in an afternoon sitting.

One of these on a tandem trailer or two on the back of a light truck is definitely a viable option for any operation. It just comes with a lot of hoops to jump through.

If you can keep your rig <1000L then you can avoid most of the requirements all together as it no longer requires placarding or any of the mandatory equipment.

Is your understanding of this that it is under 1000 litres in one container or under 1000 in total?
I am limited to get four drums filled on one vehicle because refueler claims has to be less than 1000 litres Won't fill 5 because can that is potentially over a 1000 litres

Has to be less than 1000L total but in containers not bigger than 500L. Sorry I left that out.

4 drums is fine. 5 takes you over.
Or you could get 2 x 499L tanks.
