It was so very lucky no one crashed or died in that dust that covered the highway !!! The local news and papers would have a field day feeding the hatred towards helicopters and the increased noise over the city. Then imagine the dramas with the insurance companies suing the US government over the claims.

Go Team America.

PS - How do you embed the clip into the post?

Added by Mod. You click on the Youtube button and place this bit WgvuF-72YCc in the middle. (I stole this from the first vid. Always put the bit after the = )

So nobody knew these aircraft were coming. Nobody knew they were going to land in that park. Nobody looked at it and said, mmmmm big helicopter like thing might blow some dust around, I might get a council water truck or two and dampen it down a bit to reduce the risk of dust.

Some big thinkers in Brisbane..................................

Maybe, by watering the ground first, the act of security and surprise would have been compromised in the eyes of the US forces...

Don't forget this weekend the city will be swamped with Very Self Important People. That's why most of the normal peeps like me are staying well clear until the circus has finished.

Cheers, Saucepan

Just advertising probably the biggest operational flaw in the whole idea

What happens when the surface is really soft/loose? Do you just continue to dig a big hole?

Oh so easy to lose control in these conditions - Voluntary IFR @ 100' AGL anyone? Of course let alone the consequences to 3rd parties as in the video.
