Good Afternoon all,
My name is Nathan Wilson, I am 18 and have currently finished my further education.
I am currently in the process of applying for numerous flying vacancies, however my main desire as of current is to find any careers within the Aircrew.
I applied to the Royal Air Force two months ago as a Weapon Systems Operator (Crewman), but unfortunately failed the selection by 7 marks on the aptitude tests.
So I am still on the hunt.
I recently applied to NHV Helicopters as a Helicopter Hoist Operator (HHO) but again with no avail, I am keen to get into a career and get the ball rolling, however does anyone know of any company's recruiting for rear-crew? I currently work at a UK Airport as an Operations Assistant, and as much I enjoy the job, I'm looking for the next step.
I hold an NPPL Medical, I hold 13 GCSE qualifications (8 are A*-C grades in English Lang, Maths, Sciences and Geography).
Many thanks for your help and I am new so please be gentle .
Kind regards
WILSON

Re: Helicopter Crewman vacancies
Given that you are in the UK and this is an Australian-based site that is predominantly visited by people working within the Australasian area, finding work in the UK as an aircrewman will most likely be fruitless, without trying to sound harsh. You may however find a few members on the site who might send you a PM with some advice which may help guide you in the right direction. Perhaps a call and/or a visit to a 'local' helicopter operator that employs aircrewman will be be of greater assistance to you career-wise. For everything else, there is www.bladeslapper.com
Good luck and welcome.

Re: Helicopter Crewman vacancies
Wilson,
don't be disheartened about work prospects in Australia. There are several heli operators in Oz who take overseas employees over and above anyone on offer from Australia.
CHC predominatly canadian but do occassionally take Oz pilots/crewmen.
UnitedAero predominantly Kiwi or canadian but unless you are one of those, you won't get a look in.
Becker Helis predominantly kiwi but will take Oz pilots/crewmen
Keep trying - you'll never know if you dont give it a shot!
