If it’s just to supplement a requirement, there are online courses available.

Do you have one you'd recommend HP? I was hoping to sit in on the UAS Wires course this year but was initially told no dates, then as above with no Victorian venue, so might have to look at an online one to tick the box.

The course I took, from looking has no more online presence.
The company got bagged on this site and probably for good reason.
There will be a few around just pick the cheapest and one that gives you a certificate at the end.

CASA has nothing to do with the "flying in the wire environment" course. Its a NAFC thing or if you are in co-hoots with a company that fly power lines (those companies will put the course on)
NAFCs requirement for the course is merely a tick in the box....I have an email from them that say as much.
Correct, a course wont stop you from hitting wires but awareness and education can limit the chances.
Much like the DG courses, for some pilots it is compulsory, its a matter of bending over and paying the money....who the hell remembers, cares or learns anything from them.....

So long as you have a certificate that says you've done it, then yes.

And how long is the aforementioned certificate valid for?
I am getting conflicting info on this one.
Some saying must be renewed annually or up to 2 years and others suggesting up to 5 years validity.???
I suspect the confusion may lie with differentiating between an in house company wire (CRM) enviro type course, or the NAFC recognised "Flying in the Wire Environment" course as previously run by the man himself Bob Feerst.
Look forward to hearing clarification.
Cheers all

Regardless of where you got the certificate (NAFC) is Two Years. You will find most certificates are valid for that period.
