Competency based training?

Postby crow » Sat Mar 18 2017, 21:38

Hi all. Just a quick one. It has been awhile since I did my license and a guy was asking about competency based cpl training - Does this exist now? We had to do the 105 hours but like I say that was a while ago.

Crow, if you think about it, helicopter training has ALWAYS been competency based. This "new age" crap is just that, they've taken what was a relatively simple task and made it paperwork intensive, complicated and gained absolutely nothing. This is typical of today with academics getting involved and of course they know all there is about aviation so their opinion is the only way to do it.

Every helicopter pilot out there now was taught to fly the "old way" and now the academics are saying it was the wrong way to do it.
Hand in Pants, I'm thinking, my god, that IS huge!!!!!!!!
