Aviation watches
I'm in the market for a new watch and would like some info on watches like the Citizen Skyhawk or Nighthawk.
They seem gimmicky to me, but does anyone actually own one and use their features.
Cheers.

Theres only one aviation watch, one that not just holds its value but increases with time, thats the Brietling - Navitimer. Check them out here http://breitling.com/en/

Had the Skyhawk...nice watch but useless if your caught in a region that is not UTC + - on the hour like Central Aus, as it can't handle local time changes in half hour increments without affecting UTC (the only reason for having it in the first place).
Replaced it with a cheapy that has two independant time settings.

Hey rotors88, you really love Breitling, don't you?
I must admit that there is something about a good watch. I've got a thing about mechanical watches and would love to own one. The problem is that they aren't cheap and unfortunately these are champagne and lobster tastes when I only have a beer and crisps budget! Anyway...
If you like a really simple layout, have a look at http://www.fortis-watch.com
For a bit more bling and secret agent fantasies, look at http://www.omega.ch/
Both do models with a GMT hand, but they only work with whole hour differences so they won't work properly in SA or NT and a few other places around the world.
If you want something that is really clever, check out http://www.yeswatch.com/
These will handle any time zone and correct for daylight saving time. The display shows sunrise/sunset times, moonrise/moonset times for any location in the world (600 odd pre-programmed cities plus LAT/LON)
