Two questions:

First flight, or did you buy it?

Is the hook well and truly set?

It's great when you get these first milestones, I still remember mine but they are fading slightly.

Congrats

Well done Nev. sounds like you enjoyed it.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your flying, and remember, even when it is hard work, it can still be fun. Moorabbin can be a good spot to start as well.

Thanks But I am afraid it stops there
Really not financial enough to continue
And at the age of 53 hardly a career move
But did enjoy the experience

A private licence is about 50 hours, so have fun chipping away at it if you can afford it. Consider it a SKI holiday, "Spend Kids Inheritance".
Otherwise, just go for the occasional joy flight, plenty of beautiful sights to see around the place.

You are correct. It's an H269 or H300. It first flew in 1955 and went into production in the 60's. It's still a versatile aircraft and a great trainer. I learnt on one (c:

Yeah The certificate I got says its a Hughes 300
Google informs me Hughes was (I assume) bought out by Schweizer and later Sikorsky
CASA registration Site tells me its was manufactured in 2004

Yes I am getting a little old There's the problem lol

Good on you Nev! I also took a TIF with the intention of leaving it at that, but I really started to miss it after a couple of weeks.
