There is Kiowa based at YSBK with the call sign VH-FUX,
It is amusing to here Syd radar give a clearance, and the subsequent comments.

its up for sale if any one wants to buy it. you can see shots at http://www.helipad.com.au
ive flown it a couple of times. nice machine very smooth and some interesting info about it. the owner MF (very nice guy) flew it from the cook islands back to australia, i think it was 9-10 hours over water , come to think of it maybe even longer.
The owner put a massive fuel bladder in the back seat which when filled to the top in the chopper looked like a sauage about to burst! plus a gerry in the front which he used to top up on a coral island out the middle of no where enroute. Suffice to say he did not shut the engine off in case (murphys law) it did not start again. pucker factor of 10

There was a similarly unfortunate rego on one of the eurocopters in the back ground of those pics with the new French little chopper- Cabri G2.

I got many wonderful hours up in VH-SUC around the Kimberley's

when i flew it in for service, i made up list of repairs,

I had the heading.

VH-SUC Suck my Snags

1 to slow
2 to many grease nipples
3 dirty, needs a wash
4 OAT gauge must under read (its got to be hotter than that)

the engineers did not think any of it was funny.
Now where's my beer

A Blue Mountains owner converted his H500 into a NOTAR. Lots of time and money later, he was the proud owner of VH-FLY.

He painted the tail cone bright blue, because he always wanted to go like a blue-@rsed fly!

When I was flying out at Ayers Rock the Alice Springs Aero Club had three aircraft that would occasionally come through the Rock. They were all parked together one day and I noticed their rego's - VH-CLT, VH-BUT and VH-ARS!

As a young lad, I remember FUX as a real B206 based in Mt Isa.

Owned by the late and reverred Mike Grey, and Doug Bruin. Don't know whether Doug is still with us? a tremendous gentleman and mentor I remember.

that was when the FSU's were staffed by members of the local bar gang and radio advice was often more to the point and jocular than in today's nanny society.

For a few years, in a small Victorian coastal town, I used to see an old Asian guy regularly give joyflights to Starlight Foundation kids, kids with cancer, etc in his Bell Longranger. His registration (maybe his name?) was VH-LEE. The next time I saw this rego was in Charleville this time on an Astar B2, I think. That's cool rego. Rich guy enjoying his money and helping people. 8)
