Flight School for CPL Skills test?

Postby Apache664 » Wed Jun 26 2013, 20:33

Hello All,
Looking to convert EASA CPL(H) to CASA and am struggling to find a flight school willing to conduct training and arrangement of CPL Skills test.
I am signing up with AFT for the theory and just need a flight school.
I have family in Perth and Gold Coast. No response from HeliWest (my preferred location). Becker said unable to help as too busy. Several other companies e-mailed or called with messages left but no respsonses so far.
Happy to conduct the training/test anywhere as long as I can also sit my exams somewhere near too.
I am 3000hr UK mil pilot, but also have some R22 and AS350 FI time.
Any suggestions?
Cheers

Have sent you a PM Apache664.
I'm a pessimist, that way I'm either always being proven right, or pleasantly surprised.

The power of Bladeslapper is impressive! Plenty of PM's and return e-mails now.
I know email is not the best way of doing business but when away with the military it is often my only option.
Thank you for your replies and hopefully I will bump into some of you over there soon.
Cheers

G'day Apache,

I know it's a little further away from your family (sometimes a very good thing), but FWIW Maitland Helicopters near Newcastle have been very helpful with my questions during the process of converting my FAA ATP to CASA...even though there is (currently) no check ride for ATP conversions and hence no likelihood of receiving any business from me.

I haven't seen their operation, but I'm sure I wouldn't hesitate to use them. Certainly worth a look in your case, if you're still looking.

Good Luck
Mike

V2Helicopters is in Brisbane,

The chief pilot/instructor is an English expat.

The exam centre is in the same complex.
