Hi all,
Are there any LAMEs knocking around this site who are from an RNZAF background, but got their initial Licence in Australia (i.e. not already a Kiwi LAME who converted under the TTRMA)?
I am currently at odds with CASA over getting my Iroquois time recognised for a rating or even a reduction on my first type, as they say they don't recognise foreign military experience. Unfortunately for me I've only worked on either RNZAF aircraft or ADF aircraft as a Defence Contractor, so CASA say I have to do a full SOE for my first rating.
It's a shame my experience will get me a Licence, but no rating.
If anyone can help or has been in a similar situation I'd love to hear from you.
Thanks,
Kenny Powers

Re: Help required from LAMEs
Welcome to Oz mate, it's all to hard for CASA when it comes to the RNZAF, I tried very hard to get my Iroquois time recognised to no avail. Unfortunately i had to go back to recording SOE like everyone else. You are better off getting a CAA licence then bringing that over here.
Getting Engine licences here is a mission too, if you can pick up any in NZ then get those too.
Good luck with it.
